Cefpoderm® 100 mg Tablets (100-count) is a veterinary prescription antibiotic designed to treat a variety of infections in dogs. Containing cefpodoxime proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin, this medication is effective against a broad spectrum of susceptible bacteria, including staph species such as Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as Streptococcus canis, Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida, and Proteus mirabilis. Cefpoderm® is commonly prescribed for skin infections (pyoderma, abscesses, and wounds), and it may also be used off-label for certain urinary tract infections, depending on veterinary evaluation. Administered orally once daily, Cefpoderm® offers convenient dosing with or without food. Treatment typically lasts 5–7 days or until clinical signs resolve, up to a maximum of 28 days.
